They’re baaaaaaack! After a lengthy quarantine hiatus, your friendly goth podcasters Rob Skvarla and Samm Deighan have risen from the dead for a new double feature episode of the Evil Eye podcast, focusing on BLACULA (1972) and SCREAM BLACULA SCREAM (1973). The episode features a discussion of the first-ever blaxploitation horror film and how it created a subgenre, Dracula reimagined in the ’70s, the great William Marshall, our favorite black goth musicians, and more.

The Evil Eye is a podcast about goth movies. What exactly is a goth movie? Writers Samm Deighan and Robert Skvarla are two old goths determined to answer that age old question by exploring various genres including horror, melodrama, and film noir. Each episode will dissect a film that fits the goth aesthetic and explore the music and culture in the year that film was released.
