Well, well, well. Look what we have here. A brand new, intergalactic episode of The Mandate. Returning to the podcast is previous guest, Brian Carola (I know him! He’s a friend from work!), former bassist of East Of Anything and my constant MCU companion, and naturally we went to check out the next continuation of the universe in Thor: Ragnarok. Personally, I’ve always felt like the Thor flicks got a bad rap when compared to the whole of the MCU, but I’d take Thor and The Dark World over the Ed Norton fronted Hulk film, as well as the 2nd and 3rd Ironman films and the first Captain America. I’ve also always held the comic version of Thor in very high regards. He was basically a heavy metal Viking that smashed monsters with a hammer. Adolescent John Wren thought that was so badass. Ok, so does adult John Wren. Needless to say, I was in for another Thor movie and with the MCU having a relatively perfect track record so far, my, as well as Brian’s, expectations were pretty high going in, despite not knowing that much about the film, especially given the spoiler culture and desire to know everything about a film before we go see it. I think that gave us a better experience overall with the film as we went in relatively fresh. Because of that we kept this episode pretty spoiler free, atleast we didn’t spoil anything big or fun about it. So give us 20 minutes of your time and see what we thought about the 17th installment into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Ragnorok cannot be stopped!
